Acting

Jamie studied acting at NYU, spending most of his time at the Stella Adler Studio and the Experimental Theatre Wing (ETW). Adler teaches a classically based, feel-it-then-do-it approach while ETW is centered more around harnessing your impulses and the do-it-then-feel-it acting technique. They evened each other out rather nicely.
Jamie also spent two months in Amsterdam at the International Theatre Workshop. This training touched on both classical and experimental elements, but it was the focus on devising your own material that has really stayed with me.
After graduating in 2005, Jamie appeared in numerous plays as well as many independent and student films. A few favorites productions include Jabu with Elizabeth Swados at the Flea Theater , Limitless Joy with Oscar Nominated Director Josh Fox and Veritas at Columbia University, which was later developed into Unnatural Acts for Classic Stage Company .
Jamie also holds a place in his heart for the assorted low-budget horror movies and dinner theatre in which he was fortunate enough to perform. Having decided to focus full time on comedy writing in 2008, Jamie’s acting is now primarily limited to his own work and that of those willing to offer him obscene gobs of money.
